Biography
C.C. Pecknold, PhD ( Cambridge) teaches historical and systematic theology in the School of Theology and Religious Studies at The Catholic University of America. He is the author of Transforming Postliberal Theology (T & T Clark 2005) and co-editor of Liturgy, Time and the Politics of Redemption (Eerdmans 2006). He is the author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Augustinian Studies, The Scottish Journal of Theology, Anglican Theological Review, Modern Theology, and Political Theology. In addition to serving as series co-editor with D. Stephen Long and Thomas Heilke for Theo-Political Visions (Cascase Books), Dr. Pecknold also serves as book reviews editor for Pro Ecclesia: A Journal of Catholic and Evangelical Theology.
Dr. Pecknold's forthcoming Christianity and Politics: A Brief Guide to the History, will be published in the Spring of 2010 in the Cascade Companion series. He is currently working on two inter-related projects, one on "knowing and naming God in the Catholic tradition," and another dealing with modern debates about nature and grace, "the natural desire to see God," and the importance of theological anthropology for understanding the Church's relation to the secular.
