While writing his doctoral dissertation, Ph.D. candidate Eric Johnston found the time to pen an "op-ed" piece for THE NEW YORK TIMES about the upcoming presidential election. He lives on Capitol Hill with his wife and children. He has obviously "connected" with official Washington during his time at CUA.

08/7/2007 STRS Major David Pennington Is Honored
David's paper, which will appear in one of the issues of the Journal of Theta Alpha Kappa in 2008, is entitled "From East to West-A Perfect Offering: Understanding the Agreement on the Eucharist between the Catholic Church and the Assyrian Church of the East. The Journal of Theta Alpha Kappa, the publication of the National Honor Society for Religious Studies and Theology. This is a refereed journal that publishes articles by faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates.

08/03/2007 Dr. Minnich Named as a Member of the Pontifical Committee of Historical Sciences
It was announced on March 8, 2007 at the Vatican that Pope Benedict XVI has named Professor Nelson Minnich to the Pontifical Committee of Historical Sciences. "This is truly an extraordinary honor for Dr. Minnich. It also honors CUA in that he joins our recently retired Professor Robert Trisco as a member of this Committee," said Dean Kevin Irwin.
07/14/2007 Fr. Regis Armstrong Receives the Franciscan Institute Medal
On the Feast of St. Bonaventure, Fr. Regis Armstrong became the twentieth recipient of the Franciscan Institute Medal of Saint Bonaventure University, Olean, New York. Since the inception of the award, twenty men and women from throughout the world have been honored for their significant contributions to Franciscan scholarship. 2007 marked the thirtieth anniversary of his entrance into the Franciscan Institute, which stands as the preeminent center in North America of teaching, research and publication on the history, spirituality and intellectual life of the Franciscan movement.
