Annual John Tracy Ellis Lecture

The annual John Tracy Ellis Church History Lecture was given Wednesday, January 12th, by Father Paul Kollman, CSC, Assistant Professor of Theology at Notre Dame.  In his lecture entitled, "The Future of Church History (If it Has a Future): Understanding the World's Emerging Christians" Fr. Kollman suggested some methods for understanding the complex history of African Christianity, and called on Church historians to follow Msgr. Ellis in his call neither to turn a blind eye to any negative history of the Church, nor to turn away from a deep engagement with and loyalty to the Christian faith.

Dr. Mark Wedig on Liturgical Enviroment

On Tuesday, November 9, 2010, Dr. Mark Wedig, OP, professor of theology at Barry University and graduate of CUA, returned to campus to deliver a lecture on the hermeneutics of the liturgical environment. The lecture offers suggestions on being aware of one's own ascetic judgments when looking at a building, the importance of the participation of the people in shaping the environment and on how the history of a community has shaped its liturgical environment.
