Biography
Member of the Catholic Biblical Association, Society of Biblical Literature, and Society of New Testament Studies.
John Paul Heil is a priest of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Ordained in 1974, he studied at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, where he received his Doctorate in Sacred Scripture in 1979. After teaching at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis for 26 years, he joined the faculty of Catholic University in 2006.
His past research has focused primarily on the Gospels, resulting in the
publication of several articles and monographs. More recently his focus has been on Pauline Studies, resulting in the publication of monographs on Romans, 1 Corinthians, and Ephesians. He has two forthcoming monographs on Colossians and Philippians. Recently he has completed a monograph on the Letter to the Hebrews, and is currently working on the Book of Revelation.
